Gustave A Bouvier is recorded as a British artist, also using the name Gustavus Arthur Bouvier. He was a member of the Royal Academy and his work is still offered at auction, with prices ranging from $214 to $659 in 2013. While recorded living on Jeffreys Street he was painting L’entre au port and was working on a heraldic manuscript ‘Blazon of the Archbishops of Rheims’ (1887). Similar manuscript material by this author is held at the V&A museum. It is currently on sale in The Sanctuary Bookshop in Lyme Regis for £195.  He had previously produced a similar book on ‘The Doges of Venice’ (1875).
